20 Things that Bug Me!

1) Why does Turlington Plaza get so busy between the periods 4-5?

I believe it's because people within the large lecture classes in turlington exit at once combined with the many clubs tabling the area make the plaza so congested during the break period.

2) Why is the drive-through for the Chick-fil-A on archer so crowded at after 10pm?

The in-dine portion of the store closes; therefore, people are forced to go into the drive-through line if they want to order food.

3) Why does Marston library close early on Friday and Saturday?

It's probably the least busiest times in a college week because students usually tend to go out at night during those days.

4) Why does shipping costs sometimes more than the actual product?

The product could be very cheap, and the location of shipping point is very far (ex. China).

5) Why do people spend too much time on their phones?

Technology have become an integral part of our lives with all the information, entertainment, and professional career opportunities at our fingertips.

6) Why are people still smoking cigarettes after all the health reports, studies, and commercials state the negative effects of the product?

Cigarettes contain nicotine, which can cause addiction due to its chemical effect on the brain.

7) Why is marijuana regarded as such a deadly drug by the federal government?

The negative connotation came with the drug because of its unknown long-term effects back in the day. With more research coming out, it's been clearing up the bad reputation. Although, it's still regarded by some people as a possible gateway drug.

8) Why has identity theft become such a huge crime problem?

With new technology, people put a lot of private information on their devices, which can be susceptible to online hackers to steal and use.

9) Why is online theft such a hard crime to solve?

Hackers are so advance in their methods of stealing and can also cover their tracks quite easily compared to crimes done in person.

10) Why do some electronics break so quickly and easily?

 Buying from second-hand or unapproved providers can lead to poorly made products at purchase. These products tend to be cheaper than the brand name products because of their lower product costs. Therefore, people who are paying less for these 'steals' can ultimately backfire because of their short life duration.

11) Why does Southwest Recreation Center have a small gym compared to the size of the building?

Southwest Rec. provides more than just the normal gym area with multiple basketball courts, track circle, and exercise bike room. Therefore, the size is divided to accommodate all types of people, nut just working addicts.

12) Why are there more questionable drivers during the winter time in Florida?

Snow birds, or older individuals, come down to their vacation homes to avoid the colder weather up North. Their driving is not up to par because their senses aren't as kin as they used to be.

13) Why are the majority of University of Florida business classes online compared to the traditional classroom setup?

UF is home to ~55,000 undergraduate and graduate students with the business being one of the largest colleges in UF. With little space and money saving options, the business school has gone online.

14) Why do some college classes only start early in the morning or late at night?

These classes start early or late because of the professor's preference, UF's or department's decision, or classrooms are limited, which means the least fought over times are the inconvenient time slots.

15) Why does bookstore close at 5pm or 6pm, which closes off the main entrance to the food court at Reitz Union?

The bookstore close operating hours to not pay workers during not profitable hours. Due to its poor design, the bookstore also blocks the entrance to the next level because UF's clever business tactic make people walk through the whole bookstore to potential spend money on merchandise.

16) Why does the finance major require a B grade in financial and managerial accounting, even though a C is a passing grade for a general business major?

The finance major requires a higher grade because of its future workload and intensity. Those classes are used a benchmark, or weed-out class, to stop students who aren't ready enough to take on the coursework.

17) Why does the student section stand the whole game during UF home football games?

Students want to get hyped and celebrate for their team. This action is usually because they are trying to get rowdy to support our team going into battle. Therefore, getting more energized and showing emotional support is better showed standing and jumping up and down rather than sitting down.

18) Why are there such things as noon football games?

TV broadcasters want to spread out and fit as many games as possible into viewing experiences for the people at home. Therefore, the ones going to the game have to suffer the Florida heat at 12pm.

19) Why does tailgating at fraternities involve little barbecuing and more drinking?

In college, any excuse to drink is the perfect excuse to drink.

20) Why does UF still have rush hour traffic around 3-4pm if most students take the bus?

Those few students and staff that don't take the bus want to watch the world burn. Also, the roads around campus are one lane and make it easy for little congestion to create traffic.

After writing down 20 things that bug me, I realized that it was hard to come up with some bugs. After I got started with a few, I got onto a roll and was pumping them out like hot cakes. The difficulty of this list definitely came in the beginning with trying to start the list.
